It can be hard to feel interesting when it’s a million degrees outside and adding exciting layers just isn’t an option. Summer comes around and I start to lean heavily on accessories, specifically jewellery. Anyone who has seen me more than once this week can back this up. My go-to outfit right now is The Row Scuba pants, a white t-shirt, loafers, light trench that I hope to part with at some point in this ‘London Summer’, and statement jewellery, stacked.
If you are a lover of chic jewellery that is unlike everything else, John Hardy needs to be on your radar. Timeless, interesting, and with a vintage edge. This is how I’d style some pieces for summer, stacking special pieces alongside minimal, easy to recreate outfits.
The Cool Girl
She’s laid-back with a luxurious aura. Her phone screen is an image of the Olsen Twins in New York. The daily uniform? black cotton trousers with a long sleeve white t-shirt (naturally optional in the hopeful heat of the summer), underneath a great grey t-shirt. She throws on her slides, bag and glasses before dashing out to a coffee meeting. Her stacking philosophy is the key to making her outfit interesting. The stack in question? A JH Essential Pavé Band Ring, paired with a Silver Spear Flex Cuff that sits alongside the JH Essential Pavé Bracelet and JH Essential Hoop Earrings. Quiet pieces that make a chic impact.
The Reinvented Classic
All of the best parts of being classic, with a twist. Born in London, exquisitely well travelled, with a library big enough to start trading out of, in her Brooklyn Brownstone. In the next room a closet full of minimal yet intriguing pieces, rich in texture or detail. The same formula applies to her jewellery. Her stacking philosophy is a true reflection of her personality, with classic pieces sitting amongst interesting, statement pieces. For example the, JH Essential Pearl Hoop Earrings, mixed with a Love Knot Y Necklace and JH Essential Pavé bracelet. Next to the Pavé bracelet sits the Reversible Icon Bracelet that combines both classic gold and modern silver. Perfectly encapsulating this woman. The rest of the outfit? A thin knit top, cocoon style skirt, and a cool-toned caramel trench falling over her shoulders. A fresh take on a heeled sandal pairs perfectly with a soft suede clutch bag and tortoiseshell sunglasses.
The Born and Raised Upper East Sider
Chicness runs in her DNA, whether it translates into a gathered silk poncho top or shirred satin pill-box hat. The structured white cotton pants are the extent of her casualness, even during a New York heatwave. Her stacking philosophy is simple - a line up that is light and luxurious, pieces that make an impact on their own. The stack criteria? A JH Essential Gold Pavé Bracelet, Spear Ring alongside the Surf Ring and matching Spear Hoop Earrings. A quietly luxurious padded clutch perfectly compliments a black barely-there sandal and simple round sunglasses.

Very chic.
At the risk of sounding sarcastic I really am curious why the grey tee is over $600?!
That first outfit is PERFECT
