These days, I feel like I try to make an effort to shop better. I tend to avoid fast fashion and gravitate towards investment pieces. Don’t get me wrong, nobody is perfect and I did pick up an amazing lace cami from Zara last month. However, whilst I’m sure we’d all love closets full of luxury investment pieces, it’s just not that realistic. So I’ll introduce you to my only vice, that is Massimo Dutti.
I’m fully aware that MD and Zara are owned by the same people, but you can’t deny there is just something about Massimo that hits differently. The creative direction lures me in, with the 90s Calvin Klein esque styling, splashed with an exquisite aura of Anita Pallenberg - especially during summer.
So for my lovers of The Row, who want that minimal bohemian luxe this summer. This is everything I’d buy from Massimo Dutti:
I love The Row, probably too much. I also know (most of the time) what is worth an investment. This bag is fun and chic but in my opinion, use your saved Row shaped pennies for a leather bag and buy this Massimo suede bag in the meantime.
I was on a Vestiaire deep dive looking for Old Celine with this exact same lace contrast, then last night this pops up on my sponsored ads (naturally). It also reminds me of a new Phoebe Philo design.
Nothing I live for more than a pop of red with a muted outfit during summer, an easy way to look more interesting. Word on the street is that these are very comfortable.
It is my belief that everyone needs a great pair of light wash jeans in their life, these are a chic option. Wear with flip flops, a lace trim camisole and a white t shirt (up it to a grey sweater for colder days).
Scarves. In this case suede ones. If there is one accessory that is truly Olsen coded, it is the scarf. More on this subject in my next Stack but for now have this as a taster. Wear around your neck or try a summer styling move that I’m seeing more and more, tied around the waist.
Remember this The Row look that had every fashion girl choked, here is the summer version. Go full red like MD are giving us, or go more casual. My go to with colourful trousers is a dark grey knit, white t shirt with the bottom trim poking out and either flip flops or ballet flats.
Dare I say I’m tired of neutrals 24/7? Maybe this is what they call being enlightened or maybe it’s just my summer self. I’m playing around with colourful accents just to make things a little more interesting, of course keeping the core base true to my more minimal self.
I provide you with this The Row new collection blouse and leave this here. Do with this what you will, but maybe size up.
She comes from the family of classic white t-shirts, the elegant, elder sister offers us a knit alternative for summer. She floats around the City layered over denim or over white linen pants in the South of France.
If you’re familiar with Allison Bornstein you will understand this reference. If not, this is a cape made out of the spirit of Stevie Nicks and the Olsen Twins. Coming in black, cream and brown. Wear over a bikini on vacation or in the city over a white tank and easy pants.
I hope some of these pieces bring you some inspiration and show you that you don’t need a million dollars to look interesting or expensive, you just need a vision and carry it out.

I'm so with you on Massimo Dutti. I really try to avoid fast fashion as much as possible too, but I do find MD's quality to be much higher than Zara (it also tends to be a much nicer in-store shopping experience!). It also doesn't look high street, as you've shown here. Definitely one of the more interesting accessible brands to shop at the moment.
