All of the wellness items the cool girls are using right now.
Everything from the 'Margaux Bag of Facials' to the Best Pilates classes.
I’ve just come back from the best trip to NYC, I’m not sure if it was because of NYFW and all of the energy that brings, but I could see myself moving there. One thing that really stands out to me is the fashion, it’s everywhere and in it’s richest most exuberant form. London fashion is chic but nothing like this.
So before we delve more into that fashion, here is my research on all of the chic (and effective) wellness products and activities all of the cool girls are using right now:
The Margaux bag (a quote from Molly Hall’s heart) of facials right now in New York. This is a medical spa facial studio in Soho, founded by the chicest woman I’ve ever seen, Elizabeth Grace. It’s a if you know you know type of place with fans extending to Jennifer Lawrence (says everything you need to know). I visited whilst I was in NYC and have never glowed so much after a facial. The interiors are to die for, with a mix of Swedish and vintage pieces. Lana Del Rey played for the entirety of my treatment (not live but I’m sure one day) and I walked out with chic skincare from their shop. Basically the best place on earth.
I didn’t just leave Ställe studios with glowing skin, I have a little problem called a shopping addiction and left with a tortoiseshell clip and a Mandelic Clearing Serum from Sofia Pavitt. I’ve seen the bright coloured packaging from this brand more and more recently and it was the very high recommendation from Ställe’s, Abby Tweet that broke the camels back. I can report back to say it’s amazing and my skin has kept the facial glow for a week due to this.
On the subject of the Ställe Studios shop, there is a reason they stock Furtuna Skin. Their Cleansing Balm and Biphase Moisturizing Oil are on heavy rotation for me right now. A clean formula with glowing results.
Whilst I love fashion, I am also very into wellness and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It makes me feel great and keeps me sane. I would love to be a runner and have tried to get into it but my true love is reformer pilates right now. The studio name that is on every cool girl in NYC’s lips right now is ‘Tera Studio’. Founded by Georgia Murphy, Tera Studio is an intimate and aesthetic studio nestled in Downtown New York. Fear not if you’re not in NY as they have just started virtual classes!
I love everything this brand is doing right now, from the aesthetics to the amazing products. Tapping into the minimal world with their sleek packaging and caring ethos, find the Multi Moisture Mask in the carry on bag of every chic girl.
Another thing I noticed about NY is that the grocery shops hit different. Happier Grocery sent me to another dimension. A destination where you can buy all of the cool magazines, DSM collab items, chic skincare from brands such as Roz and Tata Harper, healthy food and a smoothie on the way out. Visiting here was an event in itself. Oh and don’t forget to grab a gua sha on your way out, plus the people watching is on another level.
For me, I find establishing some sort of skincare/bodycare routine is an essential. Good products always motivate me to keep this up, plus the fear that all my skin except for my face will shrivel in my old age unless I do my body care, but that’s another conversation. Every night I dry brush, shower and then essentially marinate myself in the body stone from Kate Mcleod. Not only does it smell amazing, my skin has never been softer. I feel like we’re missing out in the UK as it seems everyone in NYC knows and is using this.
This is not a new brand to anyone but after I visited the Khaite store in Soho and saw they were burning this candle, I had to add it to the list. Not often does a candle leave me wanting more, but when we left I could still smell it my clothes and it was just like heaven (if heaven was in a smokey, sexy forest).
If you see anyone in the US who has great hair, they’re probably using Crown Affair. I bought the air dry texturising mousse and it has already changed the game for my curly hair, still searching for the signature scent hair perfume which I’ve heard very good things about.
Visit the chicest person you know and look in their shower, I’m sure you’ll find a Soft Services Buffing Bar. Exfoliating is one of my favourite joys of life, with moisturising being another. Combine them and you have this bar.
Next up the fashion edition.
