A Very (Swedish) Stocking Story.
The Resurgence of tights in our outfits, how the right ones can make an outfit chicer.

One thing that I’ve noticed over the last year, especially at New York and Paris Fashion Week. Has been the resurgence of the tights. Call it the Miu Miu effect or the YSL effect.
Two chic people that have the leading the tights revolution are stylist Elly McGaw and Editor-at-large for VOGUE Netherlands Stephanie Broek.
Previously, if you had mentioned tights to me, I would have had severe flashbacks to school days with the torture of wearing the thick black ones almost every day to Primary school. Now when there are offerings like Swedish Stockings, the game is so much more luxurious.
The below image, of Mia Goth walking the Miu Miu Fall 2023 Show, felt like the beginning of a new era of tights. For me I think it was the first time I’d seen tights being used to make an outfit, rather than to silently be worn alongside the rest of it.
Then we’re taken to Saint Laurent’s Fall 2024 show where it seems almost the entire collection was made up of hosiery.
Now, back to today, here is some inspiration to style your tights. These are all from Swedish Stockings, now if you know about their tights - you know that gone are the days of the ladder. They are so comfortable and durable for any occasion they are present for.
These are the classic tights, they’re reliable, classic (obviously) and will go with literally anything. They were even named the best black tights in the world by the New York Times so enough said.
I paired them with a great Mango Jacket, Enza Costa leather skirt and YSL Slingback heels that feel like the obvious pairing for any Swedish Stockings.
These tights are like the fun friend, they bring joy and a little playfulness to every outfit. If you love the Miu Miu feel then these are for you. I love the way they look paired with just a simple combination of the blazer, bag and heels.
Now these might have to be my personal favourite, blame it on my inner YSL freak but they just scratch something for me. My friend took this photo, showed me and I couldn’t believe how smooth my legs looked in them.
Naturally I went down the Saint Laurent route with the outfit. A Vintage Fur coat felt apt, with the Jujuvera pendant, Row 90s bag and the same Slingback heels.
Swedish Stockings is like The Row of the tights world, quiet, luxurious and impactful.
